AS a geologist in training back in university, it seemed like it would be SUPER COOL (not to mention $$$$$$) to work the oil fields. until I did it, was only making about $10/hour (12 hour days/7 days a week for weeks on end). The gentleman I worked with who had the other 12 hour shift had been working in the same job for over 40 years - and *he* was the one making $$$$$$$$ and having all the perks (I'll let you guess who got the overnight 12 hours shift... :P)Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08687840610018476358noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6831964660986535542.post-87690415750314082472014-08-01T18:58:25.572-04:002014-08-01T18:58:25.572-04:00Great post, Tina. Sometimes I feel that it must be the hardest job in the world to be a cop, because they just don't know what they are running into. Sounds like you had a very interesting night. The only thing I've really wanted to be that I never got to try was being a librarian. That must run in the blood because my son got his Masters in Library Science and is looking for a job in the field. As you can tell, I'd rather stay away from the dangerous stuff.barbara l. halehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15251598050638810751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6831964660986535542.post-6921499142672793992014-08-01T15:01:51.792-04:002014-08-01T15:01:51.792-04:00In college I did an internship with the police dep...In college I did an internship with the police department, and during that I did a couple of ride alongs.
