Today I’m the guest blogger on “Lights All Around,” a great blog written by Jackie Sommers.
Jackie asked me to write about checking OCD. You can read that guest post, “Checking OCD: Never quite sure,” here.
While you’re there, be sure and read Jackie’s posts, too. She is a writer who recently completed her first novel.
I'll definitely check it out Tina!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your support, Keith. And you'll like Jackie's blog!
ReplyDeleteTotally cool! Will check it out. : )
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sunny!
Deletethanks for letting me know, I'll head right over!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tracy!
DeleteYou are such a good writer. You took me into your world with this. I felt that I was the one turning that stove knob.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your compliment, Carolyn. That means a lot to me!
DeleteWow! Great blog! I could feel your anxiety coming out. I've never wanted a gas stove, probably for ocd reasons (what if .....)
ReplyDeleteAt first I caught myself saying, but you checked. It'll be ok' The light bulb moment for me was at your light bulb, where you were staring at it and trying to decide it was actually off. That reminded me so much of the difference i noticed in my house after i started taking the meds i'm on now. I would clean and clean and things still 'looked' contaminated to me. I thot i had a dirty, contaminated house. New meds kicked in and it was like someone had taken the dirty film off my eyes and wow, everything looked clean.
So, since your 'can't tell if the thing is off' film is like my 'contamination' film, i totally get why you'd be standing there for 2 hours staring at the stove or light bulb.
Great writing!
Karin, I love how you related the checking with the contamination OCD. That is such a good way to put it: like a film had been taken off your eyes. That's it exactly!
DeleteGood to hear from you, as always!
Awesome! I'm on my way over there now!
